• Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements;
• Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure accuracy;
• Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents;
• Keeping track of materials and order schedules.
• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
• Traveling to various sites as required.
• Forecasting costs for different components needed for a project;
• Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections in line accordingly;
• Measuring and valuing the work done on site;
• Calculating materials quantities and costs, labor costs, and a ensuring an achievable project timeframe;
• Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress, and material needs, including any changes that may impact costs.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field;
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in the construction industry;
• Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and standards;
• Experience working on various construction projects, including residential and commercial sites;
• Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques;
• Understanding general contracting, design-build, package contracting, value-based project, and loading margins and lumpsum in commercial fit-out, residential, hotel, or retail projects;
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities;
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying;
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, and contractors, with adequate technical knowledge with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English necessary to complete the job;
• Intermediate to advanced computer skill levels in Microsoft Office 365, especially Teams, PowerApps, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Familiarization with common International design and building codes and standards;
• Good team player with Leadership skills.
