Underground Superintendent
Job description
- Communicate with all site departments (through daily and weekly meetings) to ensure understanding across site of impacts to production against target (e.g. pit condition, maintenance, weather, manning etc.).
- Monitor and report on production outputs and plant utilisation against KPIs.
- Communicate with Captains and Supervisor to plan mining schedules to minimise interruptions to operations
- Manage the compliance of procedures and process for the mining supervisors and project crew through observation and direction
- Ensure allocation of tasks to deparment is undertaken to ensure effective utilisation of people and plant
- Manage the mining crew to ensure balanced and adequately trained employees are available on all crews to achieve the production targets for the shift
- Liaise with other Superintendents to plan fleet servicing and maintenance to minimise interruptions to operations.
- Review mine designs, production schedules and maintenance schedules with the other stakeholders on site.
- Conduct operations in accordance with the agreed plan and scheduling sequence.
- Achieve targeted digger utilization and productivity
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s and master degree, relevant industry experience
- 10 years knowledge of mining environment (ventilation, ground control, blasting and equipment operation)
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Good reporting skill
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced English skills

Site-based role
Roster: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
